Introducing Community Edition
One of the downsides of free open source is, that you only get to know a very small subset of your user-base and scenarios where your software is used.
Since we announced the new license in October, we spoke to a tremendous amount of companies and developers that use IdentityServer in a vast amount of different scenarios. It’s very hard to find a “one size fits all” pricing model, and we’ve been trying to fine tune our offerings to make it work for as many people as possible.
As part of that, we want to announce a new edition today - Community Edition.
Community Edition will allow free production versions of Duende IdentityServer for companies or individuals that make less then 1 million USD revenue per year. It will allow up to 4 clients. All dev & test environments are completely free as well. See here for an overview of all our special offers.
Once you outgrow this, you can easily upgrade to one of our various commercial licenses. Feel free to contact us if you need help in finding the right license for your scenario.
Speaking of community - we have a preview version of both our new documentation and samples. If you want to see more docs or samples on certain topics, please open an issue in the corresponding repo.
…and last but not least - our friends from RSK will also release in January a community edition of their AdminUI tool with the same client limit, which means that you can get a full featured Duende IdentityServer + UI absolutely free.
